Babette Hayward biography

Babette released a limited edition EP entitled 'Six Songs EP' in 2010. It was very well received amongst music fans and industry professionals. To promote the EP she took part in the first "New Brunswick Emerging Artists" tour in Fall 2010 where she played several theatres and concert halls in NB. Babette has shared the stage with the likes of The Hidden Cameras, Matt Andersen, Christina Martin, Danny Michel and Catherine Maclellan. She was well received at Evolve Festival, and Feelsgood Follyfest and played at Saint John's 225 Anniversary Festival in summer 2010. Though Babette is primarily a solo artist, she is often joined by her multi- instrumentalist drummer Brydon Crain. They will embark on a tour in May 2011 to promote her upcoming debut release "You Might Be Somebody" that includes 10 original tracks. Babette has spent the bulk of her childhood and youth in Saint John and Belleisle Bay, New Brunswick. Her writing is very much propelled and influenced by these landscapes. In her recordings it becomes most apparent that her songwriting reflects these landscapes, resulting in lush arrangements and rich atmospheres. 2010 has been quite busy for Babette; juggling shows, festival showcases, and studio sessions. Her career will begin to come to fruition in 2011 when her first studio album is released in the Spring. She will be touring nationally to promote the album alongside showcasing at the 2011 East Coast Music Awards and more summer festivals.
