Paper Moon biography

There are three artists with this name. 1. Paper Moon is an indie rock band based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The band was formed from the ashes of former Winnipeg bands B'ehl and The Bonaduces. They played their first show in May 2001, and released their first album, entitled One Thousand Reasons To Stay, One Reason To Leave in June 2002. The album was released on Endearing Records in Canada and on Quince Records in Japan. The band released their second album Broken Hearts Break Faster Every Day in February 2006 under the Endearing Records label. Paper Moon has also appeared on Intercontinental Pop Exchange No. 2, a split EP with Swedish band The Leslies, and on the children's compilation Somebody Needs a Timeout. Their album Only During Thunderstorms was released in 2009. 2. Paper Moon were an alternative rock band from Wollongong, Australia. The band featured guitarist/vocalist Ryan Nicolussi (formerly of The Jacket), bassist Anastasi Kotoros and drummer Nik Russo (also of Mirrorsessions and Bennie James and the Hesitant Few). The band was formed in 2009 after Nicolussi had ended his time in The Jacket and found himself "in limbo". He began writing solo material, and subsequently asked Kotoros and Russo to be a part of the band. The line-up was cemented through several gigs in Wollongong and Sydney. The band came first in the University of Wollongong band comp and second in the Illawarra Mercury Battle of the Bands in 2009. They changed their name to Slow Waves in 2010 and ultimately disbanded in 2011. 3. Paper Moon was an Utrecht based Dutch band, active from 2003 to 2005. The band played guitar popsongs, and released one studio album, Brittle Hearts, in 2004. They described their music as inspired on sixties pop music. Before the band saw the light in 2003, the four male members appeared on two EP's, released with the brothers of Daryll Ann.
